Bollywood well-known star Harshvardhan Rane, whose re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam received a fantastic response recently, and another love story, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which is directed by Milap Zaveri. An energetic love story, this is Harshvardhan's first romantic pairing with Sonam Bajwa (we have already hinted about how they blaze the screen!), and it will hit the theaters on October 21 on Diwali weekend, as it will clash with Ayushmann Khurana's Thamma.

Storyline

This film follows the story of Aarav (Harshvardhan Rane) as an artist who still approaches every thing with bright-eyed sense that loves comes within the boundaries of reason and Meera (Sonam Bajwa) who is the more practical woman who does not have a belief of fairytales. When the two become intimate with one another, what begins as a fictitious romance takes a strong emotional turn with upheaval that disrupts innocence of romance into emotional upheaval of obsession and heartbreak. Using music, rain and pure passion, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat formally explores decay, tensions and healing.

Positive Points

Early reactions are referring to the film as an "intense emotional roller coaster" and compared to Sanam Teri Kasam and Aashiqui 2. Harshvardhan Rane beautifully conveys the charcter's intensity in love. Sonam Bajwa is graceful and shows depth of feeling, particularly in the more tender moments, but also in moments of aggression, anger, or hostility. The music album, given to us by Mithoon, is being called  one of, if not the, most soulful albums of the year; songs are already trending on every streaming service. Milap Zaveri’s direction gives a commercial feel, that is still heartfelt, mixing drama and passion.

Negative Points

While the film works emotionally, some critics suggest the second half becomes slow and may reach for conventional tropes of tragic romance. Some dialogue that was intended to be very emotional, may be deemed overly melodramatic. But, once again, the overarching emotional margin and performances work pass the few negatives.

Overall: Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is a visual treat and touching romance drama that celebrates love in its purest form and its most painful form. Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa's performances will assure that this Diwali's release will have your heartstrings in a twist.
