By most estimation, Apple has scheduled to unveil the next generation of iPhones on September 9th, 2026, as they traditionally do. For example, September marks the time when Apple launches products as part of their autumn announcement schedule. They traditionally include the annual introduction of both a new iPhone and a new Apple Watch (or new products like their AirPods). Apple has typically scheduled its iPhone product launches within the first two weeks of September, although they’ve held launches on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

Based on Apple's past experience, they have never released an item on the same day as any Federal Holidays. Therefore, September 8, 2026 is highly unlikely as a product launch day. Apple has done at least one other major launch on the following day after a Federal Holiday and thus September 9, 2026 looks to be the frontrunner for launch date given history.

The Fall Event Will Feature Three Premium Phones

3. Foldable iPhone Ultra (rumored).

Apple may soon offer their new foldable iPhone foldable smartphone to the market. This could be one of Apple’s largest hardware launches ever. Many are jumping into the market for a device that folds into a phone, with Samsung and Motorola leading the charge.

When will we see the release of the Apple iPhone 18 Pro in 2026?  

Apple traditionally allows for preordering to start soon after a product is released from the farthest out. There is at least a standard two-week interval, such that if the iPhone 18 Pro's announcement is made on a Friday, it will be available on Friday two weeks later. If on Monday the iPhone 18 Pro is the only product being introduced, the expected availability may only be three weeks later, on the following Friday.

Other information suggests that there are no other foldable display products being introduced at this time, casting doubt on the foldable iPhone Ultra's availability.

As we close in on the iPhone 18 Pro’s release and find ourselves at, possibly, one of the years biggest product launches from Apple, there is a lot of anticipation around the new flagship devices, both for the powerful iPhone 18 Pro models and the awaited foldable iPhone Ultra. The September launch in 2026 may well be one of Apple’s most significant product launches in the last several years altogether.
