Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6

Royal Enfield has introduced their electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6; this officially places them in the Electric Vehicle market. This product is displayed first at EICMA 2024, and has been spotted in road testing. The new electric bike formally comes to India on the 10th of April, which has created a lot of excitement and interest from its fans.

The Flying Flea C6 has a completely new platform. The bike provides a practical means of commuting each day to/from work or other locations in an urban area due to an IDC certified range of 154 km with a 3.91kWh Li-Ion battery pack. The total bicycle weight is approximately 124 kg (272 lbs), so it is easy to maneuver. The bicycle could be ridden by even shorter individuals without difficulty on a daily basis. The seat height is 823 mm from the ground (road surface), making a total height from the road surface to the bottom of the bicycle 207 mm, making it comfortable and positioned appropriately for the many different surface types of the road and comfort while riding the bicycle.

The Flying Flea C6 has retro designs that take inspiration from Royal Enfield motorcycles from World War II. The traditional looks are combined with modern technical aspects such as a unique girder fork setup in the front end, as well as a regular-type monoshock in rear with 100/110mm of suspension travel (front/rear). The bike is fitted with narrow 90 series tubeless tyres that are mounted on 19-inch wheels, and all have been factory tested for maximum efficiency and range.

The Flying Flea C6 electric motorcycle has both front and rear disc brakes (260 mm and 220 mm respectively) as well as dual-channel ABS that are sensitive to lean angles; therefore, safety is enhanced. The motorcycle also has traction control, and cornering traction control plus a round touch-enabled TFT display linked to a smartphone, which provides additional functionality (i.e., smart features).

The Flying Flea C6 performance demonstrates the strength of the motorcycle as well as its capabilities as an electric motorcycle powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with peak power of 15.4 kW and peak torque of 60 Nm which means it accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h (0 to 37 mph) in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 115 km/h (71 mph). Estimated charge time (fully charged) for battery is 2 hours and 16 minutes.
By combining classic (retro), modern and very high performance features into one package, the Flying Flea C6 will be a strong competitor in the Indian electric motorcycle market.
