The latest trailer for Toaster shows viewers a glimpse of a humor-filled, but semi-weird, movie. This movie will show how a toaster that is originally given as a gift turns into something much more than expected - it eventually leads into an adventure and other unexpected events for the male lead.

Storyline

Rajkummar Rao’s character is established as a “ek pyaara kanjoos” (a character who is tight with his money/kanjoos (male version) and very proud of it. In fact, he buys the new couple a toaster, which he had to reluctantly pay ₹5,500 for at the demands of his wife, and right before their wedding. However, once the couple gets married, only to separate, Rajkummar Rao’s character becomes determined to get the toaster back after hearing from the newlywed couple that the toaster had been donated/the wife had donated it to charity. From there, the journey just gets increasingly more absurd/funny and unpredictable as an ordinary gift becomes a very extensive complicated and chaotic journey.

Positive Points

Rajkummar Rao's terrific comic timing shines bright throughout the entire trailer, making him such a great addition to this project! The way he plays his miserly character with both charm and unique personality traits makes for quite an intrigued individual. Meanwhile, Sanya Malhotra's role helps provide warmth and support for Rajkummar's less serious and more playful character. The plot of the film is unlike any other comedy-drama and will appeal to audiences looking for something unique in their viewing experience. There are elements of humor that are situationally funny, as well as some odd use of writing that could lend itself to an enjoyable and entertaining film for those who enjoy watching something different.

Negative Points

The overall premise may seem like an interesting one to begin with, however, the viewer spectacle may get a little overdone and tiresome over time if not executed properly. The main idea of getting a toaster back from someone will most likely seem a little monotonous after the full length of the film. There is also some concern about whether there will be enough consistent humor beyond the trailer or whether the film will rely on a very limited source of humor.

Conclusion: Toaster appears to be an interesting original comedy film with a different storyline than most movies with the same type of format, and therefore may result in an interestingly fun cinematic experience for anyone who enjoys a more eccentric style of nontraditional comedy.
