In terms of Bollywood film trends, one thing that has been obvious to many in recent times has been the resurgence of romantic comedies at the box office. Seeing as how we’ve had an abundance of successful romantic films through 2025; 2026 appears to also be following this trend with feel-good, light-hearted movies. The official trailer for Ginny Weds Sunny2 suggests/indicates that the characters Avinash Tiwary (married to Medha Shankar) will have similar types of conflicts/misunderstandings/family drama/emotional struggles after they unite through the sacrament of marriage; however, the trailer does not disclose any specific information regarding what specific issues these things will encompass within context of this film. Ultimately, Ginny Weds Sunny 2 appears to have a much more accurate representation of everyday life for married couples than does most contemporary Bollywood romcom films.

Positive Aspects

One aspect of this trailer that stands out is how fresh the ensemble cast of Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankar appear together. Medha brings a real and relatable aspect to her characters, and Avinash has demonstrated his ability to perform outside of an intense role by displaying great comic timing. Together, their chemistry feels very natural and enjoyable immediately, making it easy to believe the emotional scenes as well as genuinely appreciate the comedic scenes.

One of the other strong points in this film is its concept. Moving the focus to married (as opposed to dating) life offers a different perspective and gives us a new type of humor related to the 'shaadi ke baad ka kalesh (the drama associated with marriage)' that is relatable in nature and should have a strong connection with audiences. The pacing of the trailer as well as the humour presented throughout also keep it enjoyable.

Negative Aspects

Despite having strong positives, this trailer is somewhat shy by not giving us enough of the story. It remains unclear on what the main premise is likely to confuse more people than intrigue them. Additionally, there has been too much reliance on well-known marital-style tropes, which could lead to making the movie predictability if not handled with originality.
