Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Movie Review: A Weak Romantic Comedy That Fails To Impress The Audience
Shashank Khaitan's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari released on October 2, 2025. Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, and Akshay Oberoi star in the movie. Billed as a romantic comedy film, brimming with laughter, the movie tries to merge romance, comedy, and nostalgia to the extreme but the result is not so inviting.
Storyline
The film is about Sunny Sanskari (Varun Dhawan), the son of a successful jeweller and a Baahubali fan, who takes his girlfriend Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) on a filmy date. But Ananya turns him down and chooses businessman Vikram (Rohit Saraf). Vikram is a closet fan of middle-class school teacher Tulsi Kumari (Janhvi Kapoor), whose background Vikram's family despises.
Sunny, being heartbroken but firm, joins hands with Tulsi to prevent Vikram and Ananya's marriage in Udaipur. With only a few days remaining for the marriage to take place, Sunny and Tulsi experiment with various strategies to shatter the marriage. Along the way, they work on their relationship, and the narrative is about whether they become a couple or not.
Positive Points
- Sanya Malhotra steals even a short screen space. Her dance and expressions are the elements that bring in freshness.
- Rohit Saraf does his best to introduce Vikram, however.
- Certain comic relief of Maniesh Paul is effective as gentle relief.
- Songs such as Bijuriya and Panwadi are peppy and catchy.

Negative Points
- The movie is repetitive and formulaic with the tease of old Bollywood rom-coms.
- Chemistry between Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan is lacking, so the romance fails.
- Lines are overdependent on filmography and duplication, which does not result in forthright laughter.
- Shashank Khaitan's direction is like old wine in new bottle; same tricks of his previous films are employed.
- Weakly constructed characters are left out in the subplot.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari attempts to be a light-hearted romantic comedy but only turns out to be dull and uninspiring. With a old concept and a poor script, tight jokes, and half-cooked romance, the movie fails to touch your heart as well as make you laugh sufficiently. It's a wasted chance for a talented team of actors and turns out to be another run-of-the-mill romantic comedy.
