Neena Singh Explores Stillness And Transformation Through Abstract Expressions In ‘Echoes of Becoming’ At Bikaner House
Neena Singh

Echoes of Becoming represents a fresh exploration of abstraction by artist Neena Singh, opening on 9 November 2025 in the Main Hall of Bikaner House, New Delhi, and continuing until 17 November 2025. This exhibition will provide us with an opportunity for engagement through contemplation, and fill a space between what is real and unreal with the language of becoming.

In this body of work, instead of an inquiry into abstraction as visual meaning making, Singh offers abstraction as an inner dialogue - an inquiry into becoming, emotion, and consciousness. She embraces stillness - that is stillness in her work - through subtle adjustments in color, in texture, and in its rhythm of canvas; she creates an entrance for viewers toward becoming that is both specific to them and universal to everyone. Functioning as a meditative space she invites stillness, contemplation, and connection into each of her works.

While discussing her installation, Neena Singh writes, "Echoes of Becoming is an inward contemplation of change - a long and useless journey from stillness to expression". Each work carries embodied traces of emotion, memory and time, which build and converge into visual matter.”

Curator Rahul Kumar observes, “Neena’s work is a layered contemplation of change. There is a quiet potency in each piece — one that invites viewers into a space of contemplation. Almost literally in the cultural centre of Delhi, we are fortunate to host an exhibition that embodies the transformation of silence into visual rythm.
