Delhi Public School Mathura Road Hosts Indo-Albanian Discovery Challenge
With the aim of educating students regarding other countries and promoting a greater appreciation for foreign cultures through the development of a global perspective, Delhi Public School (DPS) Mathura Road at an international level conducted an initiative called "The Indo-Albanian Discovery Challenge." Working together with the Honorary Counsel for the Republic of Albania and DPS Mathura Road, The Indo-Albanian Discovery Challenge was developed.
More than two hundred students representing over 30 of Delhi's most esteemed secondary schools participated in a multi-level quizzing format at this challenge, allowing both participating students and the event itself to promote curiosity and explore both Albanian culture, history and present relevance to contemporary global issues through learning about The Republic of Albania. This initiative aimed to provide opportunities for students to gain knowledge outside of their regular textbook learning and develop an early international learning perspective in today's globalized world.
As well as the over two hundred student participants, hundreds of people were present during the event, including Mr. Dikshu C. Kukreja who serves as the Honorary Consul General of Albania in India, representatives from the CBSE Board of Management and Dr. Ram Singh the Principal of Delhi Public School (DPS) Mathura Road. The attendance of many dignitaries and very knowledgeable leaders of their fields and countries highlights the significance of international learning and cultural education in today's modern educational environment.
Dr.Ram Singh's comments during a DPS Mathura Road event, he noted how the school's philosophy is to provide opportunities for students to learn outside of the classroom by participating in extracurricular activities. He also emphasized the importance of these initiatives as they give students the opportunity to view the world and develop a curiosity about other cultures. He further indicated that students today are more aware of global events and countries that may have been unfamiliar to them in the past such as Albania.

Following the end of the event, students and participants have interacted with distinguished Service Guests via the Interactive Session process. This provided an opportunity for the students to meet and communicate with those who have held positions of honor and respect over many years and learned their histories providing further insight into the cultural variations of the world, enhancing the students' capacity to learn about new global cultural perspectives. We believe that as we help develop Global Citizens, we assist in developing stronger connections between India and Albania through events such as the Indo-Albanian Discovery Challenge.
