Kashmir: 9 Killed, 33 Injured In Terrorist Ambush On Pilgrim Bus In Reasi
The L-G of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha visited the injured victims of the attack in the hospitals and promised the whole nation that he would bring the perpetrators of the Reasi terror attack to justice.
Kashmir has always been a place that has suffered from many terrorist attacks throughout its history and it happened again on Sunday when 9 Pilgrim lost their lives when a terrorist attack occurred on a bus. The bus was coming from the Ransoo area of district Reasi when terrorists attacked it. Because of this, the bus driver lost control and the bus fell into a deep gorge near Shiv Khori shrine in Jammu & Kashmir's Reasi district.
Talking about the incident, The senior superintendent of Reasi police Mohita Sharma said, "Today, a group of militants attacked a Yatri bus coming from Ransoo area of district Reasi. Due to the attack, the driver of the bus lost control and the bus fell into a deep gorge near the Kanda area of Pouni. Due to the accident, nine people died and 33 others injured."
Talking further, Mohita Sharma stated, "It’s a clear case of a terror attack. The area has been sanitized and a search operation has been launched. The rescue operation was completed at the earliest and the injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals. The identities of dead and injured have not been ascertained yet but they probably belonged to Uttar Pradesh."
Police also issued a statement in which it was written that "The driver was hit and lost control, resulting in the bus sliding into the nearby gorge. With the help of local villagers, police evacuated all the passengers by 8.10 pm. SP Reasi supervised the evacuation. The injured have been shifted to different hospitals-- District headquarter hospital Reasi (13), CHC Treyath (5), and GMC in Jammu (15).”

He accepted that the lives that were lost would be irreplaceable but still announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 5 lakh for the injured.
He also highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are keeping a close eye on the situation and a joint operation is also underway to capture the criminals who have the blood of 9 innocent people on their hands.
