2023 Range Rover Review: A Billionaire's Luxury SUV That Defines Opulence And Extravagance
The term "SUV" has become diluted in the modern automotive industry, with almost anything featuring SUV-like styling being marketed as a Sports Utility Vehicle. However, there are some brands that have managed to maintain the true essence of SUVs, showcasing their capabilities, size, elegance, comfort, and high cost. One such brand that fits these criteria perfectly is Range Rover. After a decade-long wait, the world has finally been introduced to the 5th generation of the Range Rover, and we were eager to find out how it fits into the modern world. We had the opportunity to spend some time with the vehicle, and here are our observations.
The standard wheelbase version impresses with its length of over 5 meters, height of 1.9 meters, and width of 2 meters. These dimensions are gracefully accentuated by their substantial weight. The standard 22-inch rims can even be upgraded to larger 23-inch ones. If that doesn't feel massive enough, there is also a long wheelbase version available, adding an additional 200 millimeters of length and wheelbase. Stepping inside, you are treated to a commanding view of the road, as if observing it from the first floor.

Moving on to the aspect of classiness, the 5th generation Range Rover aimed to embody the flagship status in its design. Fortunately, the British marque has successfully achieved this objective with flying colors. The sleek grille, sharp LED headlamps, and neatly integrated slim fog lamps in the lower air dam exude elegance. The design follows a minimalist theme, with flush-fitting door handles, gills on the sides, and vertical tail lamps. The interior design also embraces a modern and minimalistic approach. Even with significant redesigns, the Range Rover remains unmistakably recognizable as a Range Rover.
As for comfort, the new-generation Range Rover envelops its occupants in luxurious leather throughout the cabin, including the roof lining. The touch and feel are impeccable. The seats are nothing short of thrones, offering power-adjustability and integrated noise-cancelling speakers. The feature list is extensive, incorporating all the amenities one would expect in a top-of-the-line vehicle. The new Range Rover comes equipped with a 13.1-inch Pivi Pro system and a 13.7-inch instrument cluster, both offering crisp touch response and intuitive controls. The instrument cluster can be controlled through buttons on the steering wheel, although it takes some time to become accustomed to the system's extensive information and customization options.
The rear seats provide a limousine-like experience, resembling full-size recliners. It's a breeze to be chauffeured in this vehicle. However, getting into these seats can be a bit challenging, making retractable running boards highly recommended. All the controls for the rear passengers are conveniently placed and powered. The boot space is exceptionally large, accommodating a full-size spare wheel. There are buttons available to lower the seats or adjust the vehicle's height for easier access.
In conclusion, the 2023 Range Rover upholds the brand's legacy of being capable, colossal, classy, comfortable, and costly. It impresses with its imposing dimensions, elegant design, luxurious interior, and a plethora of advanced features. The Range Rover continues to set the standard for what a true SUV should be in the modern world.
