The Editor-in-Chief of India TV, Mr. Rajat Sharma, has been accused by the national spokesperson of Congress, Ragini Nayak, of using abusive words towards her on live TV. The show during which this controversy happened was on-air on the day of counting at around 11:30 a.m. The NDA had a lead of 43 seats over the India Alliance, as both of them stood at 286 and 243 seats, respectively. Ragini Nayak interjected when Rajat Sharma was making a statement, and that was when Rajat Sharma was using some bad words. 

The controversial moment was edited out of the broadcast, and it was on June 10th that Ragini Nayak came forward and shared the clip on her Twitter account. She said that she had retrieved the original clip of this incident from the channel, and it is true that Rajat Sharma was seen using abusive words at her. She demanded an answer from Rajat Sharma as well. 

Talking about the controversy, the media in charge of Congress, Jairam Ramesh, stated, "Rajat Sharma is a famous media personality. He has his own political leanings, but to use such language against a prominent spokesperson of the Congress who is a woman is unacceptable and must be strongly condemned. An unconditional apology is urgently needed in this matter.”

India TV has defended Rajat Sharma against these accusations and stated that Rajat Sharma has been consistently professional, and it is taking legal advice to decide its future course of action. Rajat Sharma is one of the biggest and most respected journalists India has to offer. He is known for his directness whenever talking to a big figure. 

All the people will have their eyes set on the future of this controversy, as Rajat Sharma has not yet been proven guilty or innocent. If proven guilty, this incident can ruin the public image of Rajat Sharma.
